The Therapeutic Reading Circle

Healing Through Words & Community

The Therapeutic Reading Circle is a unique, 4 to 8-week closed group experience that combines the power of bibliotherapy with mindfulness practices. Guided by a mental health professional, participants explore carefully selected books that inspire reflection, growth, and healing. Each session integrates grounding exercises, calming breathwork, and mindful discussions to help regulate the nervous system and cultivate emotional resilience. By reading and sharing in a supportive environment, members gain fresh insights into their own stories while building authentic connections with others.

This is more than just a book club; it’s a safe, confidential space for personal discovery, emotional healing, and community.

 Why a Therapeutic Reading Circle?

It’s accessible and affordable. Not everyone has access to weekly or regular therapy sessions, where the cost can average $100-$200 per session, even with some insurance plans.

Not everyone's challenges rise to the level of traditional therapy, yet they don’t want to navigate these challenges alone.

Why Bibliotherapy Matters

Books can act as companions, teachers, and guides. They can:

  • Spark self-reflection by putting language to feelings we haven’t yet named.

  • Provide validation through shared human experiences.

  • Offer tools and strategies for coping and growth.

  • Inspire hope and a sense of possibility.

When combined with guided discussion, bibliotherapy becomes more than a solo self-help journey; it turns into community practice.

Why Professional Guidance Matters

Having a licensed mental health professional adds an invaluable layer of safety and depth. A trained facilitator can:

  • Gently guide discussions to ensure they remain supportive and constructive.

  •  Normalize emotions that arise during the reading process.

  • Introduce therapeutic insights to connect literature to participants' real-life experiences.

  • Hold space for growth while protecting against overwhelm

How it Works

4 to 8 week-groups are virtual and occur at least once every quarter

Each circle is a standalone group and requires registration

Enrollment closes after the first week

Price varies depending on the length of the group and intensity of the material

Books are more than words on a page- they are invitations to healing. When we engage with them in community, especially with a skilled facilitator, they become powerful tools for growth, belonging,
and transformation.
